The Hilly Forested Park is located on the western side of the city and is a great place to go for a jog. Other fun activities here include biking, horseback riding, and equestrian riding. The park is also equipped with restrooms and other facilities. The trail offers breathtaking views and is ideal for all ages.
The park is heavily wooded with two large ponds and primitive trails. Its summit rises over 300 feet above the Arkansas River and offers a view of Tulsa. Many visitors describe the hiking and cycling trails at Turkey Mountain as reminiscent of those found in the Northwest. In 2016, the Park Service added the trails to its system of parks and opened the public to explore the area.
The trails in the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness connect to the 80-mile Tulsa Regional Trail System. This means you can easily ride your bike on these trails, escaping the hustle and bustle of Tulsa. And if you're not a cyclist, you can rent a bike and explore the area on two wheels. Once you're done, you'll have a great experience.
